You may wonder what ahs kept me away for a week..and I could tell you an elaborate fabrication involving a sloth, a corvette, 3 police cars, a million dollars and race for the west coast and a shrimp trawler. I could even tell you how I saved a small child from being eaten by a lion while I wandered the outback looking for the next big fuel source to close that new multimillion dollar contract I won with Energy Canada. However suffice it to say that my computer chair has a giant indent that closely resembles my derrier and I have finished huge essays in the last 10 days and now I am studying for exams (on spring break with everyone home and nice weather…YIPPEE DOOOOOOO). If you were looking for something longer, see my published works (giggle).
if its winter or spring. It seems unfair that since we get 8 months of winter that when spring comes it can’t stick around. Its kind of a kick in the derrier if you ask me. Today its minus 3..so not that cold. BUT its raining and the rain is changing into small ice torpedo’s that actually sting when you go outside. There has been so much thawing that half of our front yard is lost to an ever growing lake of flow water ad the roads were slick and wet. Now its all ice. Perfect.
Through the always awesome Mom Central and Johnson’s I got my grubbly little fingers on some Listerine Total Care. Sounds weird, but I am a dental care freak, I have been since I was just little. I brush my teeth freakishly often, floss like 4 or 5 times a day, and LOVE anitbacterial mouthwash! This mouthwash is POWERFUL, and it does have a bit of a bite..but a refreshing bite. I gifted it my husband..who said it was great too!
It has 6 great benefits…
Helping to prevent cavities
Restoring enamelStrengthening teeth
Killing bad breath germs
Freshening breath
Fighting unsightly plaque above the gum line
So make sure you grab some of this stuff up, its a steal. (keep it in the car for after coffee….coffee breath is the worst).
I am up to my ears in essays so here is aquick pic update…
On the 16th Zoe turned 9….yup the big NINE! She had a big pan of brownies and got a few family gifts, her big party is this Saturday..she is having a Hannah Montana Party. Should be..erm..fun.

Wendell is my new hero and bought me something big and shiny…a new van. Its gold and drives like a dream. Good score, he got 5 million brownie points for being so awesome. It has doors on both sides…HALLELUIA!

This is Asher..just being Asher. What do you you get when you leave the room to put a diaper in the garbage….a 15 month old with a marker beard.

Sophie got fixed. They said she was a healthy horse, dog I mean. They said she would calm down. I am still waiting.

The other day is was so nice outside that Grandpa and the girls were building a snow man…cute eh? Gotta love Grandpa’s, they make the best big snow balls.

Wendell is off buying me van today, something big and shiny! YAY! I am cleaning up, and like a good Mom I made homemade waffles for breakfast this morning. Now the girls are spread out playing Harry Potter (Order of the Phoenix), playing piano, wrestling with Asher and giggling. Its to be expected. Birds sing, dogs bark girls giggle. Its a wonderful sound.
I would wish for Friday but by virtue of my online education..every day is Monday..YIPPPEEEEE! I have been feeling just blecht for days now, sick to my stomach, crampy, hot, cold, hot, cold, headaches..just not good, know what I mean. It’s like I can go on if I have to but please don’t ask because I am sure vital parts of my body will give out in the process.
I stayed up on Tuesday until 3:30 to finish the first draft of an essay, then last night my poor boy got the runs. Not the quiet but deadly kind, rather it was the every time I poop my pants I cry because it burns so much type. Smeared the poor little guy repeatedly with penatin and cornstarch, praying all the while for some respite (for both of us).
On a good note, my claim is done, the van was written off. I got a rental ( a 2009 which makes me crnge every time someone drives within two feet of it in case they scratch it up) van that is very pretty, until tomorrow night anyways. Today Wendell goes to get the check for the van and this Saturday he is off to use his God given favor to buy me something shiny. The whole bureaucratic process was rather painless..but we were in the right place- we owned the van, owed nothing on it, and the accident was 100% the other girls fault.
Gotta make some invitations for Zoe’s bday party next week and wrap up an essay…not to mention bath my stinky boy. C ya later!
Did you ever notice that you can keep bandaids, neosporin and peroxide in the house for MONTHS and it not until someone has that BIG SPILL and needs all three that you realize you used them up on that last almost-a scratch-could-be-pen-but-she-is-crying-so-lets-fix-it-up? And we also know that if we don’t bandage it up right that even the smallest cut or burn can lead to infection…so whats a Mom to do? BUY MORE of course! I mean 40% of the damage incurred by your crazy toddler (or husand..ahem) will be of the small ointment/bandaid type.
Through Johnson’s and Mom Central I got my hands on some of the new neosporin products on the market (HA..now I am stocked up so watch out chaos). It’s this Mom’s favorite product to prevent infection, help soothe the pain and make me a superhero in the eyes of a two year old (the 12 year old won’t fal for it anymore..sigh). My favorite product (besides the traditional stores of ointment and cream) is the NEO TO GO! First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Relieving Spray..fits in my purse and looks pretty cool. Check out neosporin.com for more info.
Movies, and dishes and diapers..OH MY!
This weekend was uneventuful, I have learned though that that does not necessarily connote boring. Friday the girls has no school - Thank God because I have no van to drive them to school.
Saturday I cleaned the house - you know the things that you usually overlook when your cleaning the first time; tidying the desk of toys, junk and needless clutter, moving the couch and chairs and picture screen to clean underneath, dusting the top shelves of all bookcases. Then studied.
Sunday my father in law picked us (me and the kids) up for church because again - no van and Wendell had to go early and volunteer by himself. Great message about faith. Then we watched some moveies - Simon Birch and Facing the Giants (which is an amazing movie..SERIOUSLY). Did homework until 1 or so and then tried to sleep.
This whole having no van thing makes me feel grounded. Can’t volunteer, can’t run to the library, can’t go to the dentist, doctor, church. I don’t even get to hear about the van until Friday - a whole other week. I think it is totally mental though - I don’t have anywhere TOO important to go, its just the fact that I can’t that makes me feel buggy. I am PRAYING the woman who cut in front of me has liability that covers me getting a courtesy van, I need a van with my 5 kids or I am still grounded because we all don’t fit in a car. But again, I am thankful none of us got hurt - thats amazing in itself. Perspective.
So being the winner that I am I had a little fender bender last night. You know the kind where you bury the whole nose of your van in someone else’s car?? Yeah, that kind. My van (who was a 95) is likely a write off, which sucks because we have to many kids to fit into Wendell’s car. So we’ll being haning in out in the homefront for awhile. Maybe I will get the baseboards cleaned this year after all *snort*.
I was driving up the road, going only about 40 when this car shoots out at an intersection right as I entered it, on the far side of a van that was also turning. I didn’t even have time to brake. The car I hit was pretty messed up, half of it was inside the car. The girl inside seemed to be okay though. My van had a little body damage..but for the most part whatever under the hood I mashed up smelled bad. Wendell says the radiator. Which is bad, I am told. I had all the kids in the van, who THANK GOD were all fine. Me and Chey are a little stiff, my neck feels kind of like John Candy is sitting on it, but it’s managable.
The funny thing about the whole accident is that as I was approaching the intersection I said to Chey I hope no one is on the other side of that van, I don’t want to hit anybody. Sometime when the spirit talks you should listen. Lo and behold, 30 seconds later we were swapping info. This totally complicates things…taking the kids to school, taking the other kids to my MIL, volunteering at the school, dentist appointments, doctors appointments..all things that I need a van for. Yeesh. We need a miracle I think. Where the heck am I going to put ALL THE GROCERIES??? The sheer quantity of food we eat is bigger than Wendell’s cute little car.
