I just had to share something I am So proud of.  Chey had her first go round yesterday at making 3 MEALS ALL BY HERSELF.  She made waffles for breaskfast (even for me…with a cup of hot coffee), for lunch pasta and cheese and for supper she made sweet and sour meatballs, white rice, sugar carrots and madarine oranges as well as ice tea.  IT WAS AWESOME!

I love that girl!  Did I mention she is an AMAZING baker???

Not that kind of booty!  I am talking the small ones that fit in your hand and are super smooth…and prone to diaper rash. Asher has had a few doozy rashes in his 8 month life so far.  There are so many different products out there to help out, Penatin, Zincofacs etc.  But as any Mom knows, you run into those rashes occasionally no matter how we clean, wipe, powder, bath, and grease up that will just not clear up (and are usually associated with the much not talked about yeast infection ***gasp*** did she say that????).  I heard about this cream that seems promising through Mom Central.  Over at VusionBaby.com there is some great info about this product, it is prescription only, but knowing you can talk to your pediatrician or family doctor is important.  I still believe that Mom knows best and an informed Mom knows even better :o ).

Diapers rashes are uncomfortable already, but throw in some Candida and it CAN get worse.  Right from the site here is the skinny on the specifics:

Candida is commonly found in the intestinal tract and is carried to the diaper area by the baby’s stool. Sometimes, when Candida comes in contact with an area of irritated skin, a certain kind of yeast infection can occur. If a yeast infection in the diaper area is confirmed, healthcare providers often call this DDCC (Diaper Dermatitis Complicated by documented Candidiasis). In fact, approximately 43% of all diaper rash treated by physicians involves Candida. Your healthcare provider can confirm if your child’s diaper rash involves a yeast infection.

Vusion® Ointment is a prescription skin medication used to treat diaper rash that has been complicated by a certain kind of documented yeast infection. Vusion® Ointment contains the following ingredients for treatment:

  • Miconazole nitrate (antifungal agent)
  • Zinc oxide
  • White petrolatum

Specifically developed for babies as young as 4 weeks, it’s the only prescription product ever approved by the FDA for the treatment of diaper rash with a certain kind of documented yeast infection.

I just had to throw in that it is the only product that’s FDA-approved for diaper rash with yeast infection AND is steroid free.  That is important to me.  I was subjected to steroidin creams as a child and as an adult want to make sure my children are not subjected to the side effects unless absolutely necessary. Check the site out for more info or for a symptom check list! There is a great coupon offer and some other info you need to check out, found HERE.

But what else is new.

Yesterday me and Freedom went to the movies and saw Prince Caspian.  I have to say I love thge Narnia movies, almost as much as I love the books. Today I am off to take Chey to get her hair done.  The highlights look awesome so I am excited to see it when she is done!

I am off to have a bowl of potato soup.  Yummy.  Its my favorite soup, ad I make it AWESOME!

Will post some pics of Chey’s hair when we get home.

OH!  I forgot why I was posting, I had to share this joke that Chey loves me to tell her *wink wink*.

What did the potato say to the carrot?

I have my eyes on you if you carr-ot all.

Last night we had a bunch of fun with the three older girls..sweet chili heat chips, Alvin and the Chipmunks and a box of Revlon Frost and Glow blonde highlghts.  Very cool.  I put a bunch of highlights in their hair and it look sooooooooo pretty.  See…

We partied so hard Freedom fell asleep at the kitchen table LOL!!!

Yesterday was also Zoe’s special day.  This is a girl after my on heart….we went to a chinese buffet for lunch.  She ate so much she got sick.  It was really funny.  We had a great time.  You don’t realize how lucky ou are to have great kids until you get 2 or 3 hours of uniterrupted time with them and really get to know them, just them.  She is such a special girl.  I love her so much!

Seriously I didn’t.  I felt like it at times, but I made it through to the other side ( I SO heard the Doors..break on through…..).  I can take some time to post now, but I swore myself of the net othetr than homework for a few weeks because I was so far behind so trying to justify blogging and such would have been..well just wrong. ( I couldn’t help but check fox news tho..I am addicted to reading all the tragedy in the wor;ld.  I am twisted that way)

I wrote four exams, I gave up eating and sleeping ( and that is not really an exageration) and my husband and all 5 kids lived at the park for 4 weeks.  It was CRAZY!!!  But its over and now I am just waiting for my marks..that is always the hard part.  I couldn’t have done it without him.   Not even a chance.  The kids are so attached to him now, its adorable.  I applied for September and January classes as well as my Env Earth Science faculty approval.

And with my families support I managed to get good enough marks to be invited to take a Honours program in English.  I am not THAT crazy, but I was flattered all the same.

The biggest news and the one thing that has been keeping us even busier than my busy schedual is that WENDELL BOUGHT OUR HOUSE!!!  Yup, he manged to buy the house we have been living in.  Its our first owned home together and its an amazing feeling to know this piece of earth is ours and our kids.  God is great eh??? I can look at the grass and think, yup that is my grass.  Its so exciting. Honestly.  What more do you need in life?? I am so proud of my husband, he did an awesome job getting it all wrapped up.  He’s the man. :o )

Some pics to keep you all in the loop! We have been out galavanting since I finished my last exam, so here are some shots from the waterslides, Tinkertown, the splash party and just lazy days at home!
