I was flipping through the Beaches resort site, taking in some of the resorts and deals that have coming and I had to share this one fall holiday that sounds amazing.  I wish I could just put away the university textbooks and essays and take my whole family to the Wonderfall event. This would be a serious job tho….5 kids (11,8,7,2, and six months).  But it looks like tere would be something for them all, and that is hard to come by!!! And who would not want to go somewhere where there are "Dazzling white-sand beaches, translucent turquoise water, exotic fish, island settings, exotic lands"??!?!?! There are huge pools, snorkeling, scuba diving, tennis, volleyball and even golf at the Beaches Country Club. Not that I am for not being with my kids during the trip, but for those looking or some adult time  "kids get their own vacation at Kids Kamp including a state-of-the-art XBOX game center featuring today’s hottest video games."Dive In Movies, "Baby You’re A Star Photo Contest"( where your little one could win the chance to be featured in the next Beaches brochure) and even a celebration for Grandparents. There are resorts in Jamaica and the exotic Turks and Caicos (that is where I would be heading for sure).

If you book your resort visit in September or October you get one free night if you stay 5 or 6 days and 2 free nights if you stay more than 7!!  Do you know what an amazing deal this is! You get to combine it with up to 45% off the regular price, that is amazing,  especially if you, like my family, live for deals to make vacationing possible.  I mean you try to afford taking a family of 7 anywhere!! And you can even get a single Mom deal of uo to $190 a night off!  I think that is an amzing thing, where else can you get that???

One thing I have to share with you before I say anymore is this..its right from the website.  To me it is SUPER important to make sure that my kids are going to benefit from a vacation.  I mean to us, that is what it is all about.  Making memories for them.  With that in mind I was stoked to read this on the BEACHES WEBSITE:

I realize I could have shared it all myself, but I wanted to make sure that I got down the wide range of activities and the dates for y’all.  I really love the idea of being able to meet with the educators from Seasame Street, I kknow as a child I learned so much from Seasame Street and sure the info you get would be priceless.

I really mean it when I say this is an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY.  So if you happen to be looking or some time off for the family this fall..think Wonderfall and I am SURE that you won’t be sorry.  Make sure to click on the BEACHES WEBSITE link to watch some of the videos if you need more convincing!  Can you say GORGEOUS!

About the self inposed silence???  Life just grabbed hold of me and shook me until I cried uncle.  I have had the HUGEST assignments for my two Geography classes, and to top it off throw in an emergency molar extraction, another one of my funky abdon=minal attacks, a few chest pains, 7 nights that I stayed up almost all night, a teething baby, a birthday party and you have my last two weeks in a  nutshell.

I am SO lucky I have a great husband who has made the last two weeks a LOT easier on me.  Thank GOD that he is as supportive or I am sure I would have committed harre carre (not sure what that is after all these years, my Grandpa used to say it). I really need to take better care of myself, so if you see a bunch of posts complaining about salad coming out my ears and the need I feel to chew on anything that smells good….you will know why.  The extra 40 won’t lose itself.  Sigh.

I am heading home with the family tomorrow to see my Mom and Grandma.  The kids are super excited. but the prospect of spending a few hours in the car with Asher leaves a bad taste in my mouth.  He’s a car crier.  If he is in a carseat, he cries.  Loudly.  There is no reasoning with him, I have tried.  Life gets easier when you can bribe them with candy.  Just one more year,  heh.

I should go finish getting ready for the Bday party tonight, Freedom’s 7th.  We let her have a party before school was out this year, otherwise all her friends are at Church family camp and she misses out.  So I am off to hide goodie bags, make hats and set up a cupcake decorating station….wish me luck.

In this world of Club Penguin and Webkinz…Nintendo has come out with one cute game ..I mean it.  It is fun and adorable.  This new DS game Go Pets is tons of fun.   You can change your pets clothes, decorate their worlds with what seems like a limitless amount of decorations.  There are pet accessories ( I love the ninja outfit)  and food to make sure you keep your little pet full and happy.  On top of that your child can connect in a fun and safe environment with other Go pet kids and make up to 250 friends to share gifts with!  You can find them even when your not playing! This games takes a virtual pet and adds a social twist that makes playing even more fun!  The main goal is friendship. The sharing of gifts is a great way to help your child share and cooperate. All of the communication is totally safe, done in symbols like hearts and smiley faces. The game was created by Tobi Saultier, a mom, just like us with kids in mind.

The Mini games are awesome and kept the girls busy for hours! Th favorite was Go Wok. Its a cooking game where you make yummy treats for your pet.  The tile matching challenge went over pretty well too. The perks of the game..the pets are personalized, have preferences and personalities that make each pet a childs own.  It really is a unique experience (without the pooper scooper). If you have wifi, you can even hook you game up sand play a multiplayer game and get the family involved.

Overall this game got 8 thumbs up (one set for each of my girls from 2 to 11!!)

Yup, the school year has flown by.  My kids have finished one more year of school and are that much smarter and that much older.  Yikes.  Am I the only who feels like time flies by..its like I turned 20 and blinked and I was 28.  Where did the time go?  I really thought I was 22 for like 3 years..it went that fast.  Soon summer vacaton, and my whole family will be home.  I am not looking forward to anything elaborate ( I am taking full time courses all summer long) but I am looking forward to midnight coffees on the front step listening to the crickets and looking at the moon, gathering by the window during a storm and cuddling, bonfires with smores and smokies and some crazy scary stories, water fun in the back yard, picnics, scavenger hunts and cap outs…..just fun things that make memories….

Abby is standing behind me jumping on a buch of bubble wrap in her shoes…it is so loud that it just woke Asher up and I have to cut my psot short to go and give him his soother!  Until later….

Some call it spring and summer.. I call it ALLERGY season. You know  its-cachoo-nice-choooo-out-chooooachoo season. I don’t suffer nearly as bad as I used too, but now with Asher who seems to be a little stuffy and may have some allergies or asthma (can’t test him until he is older, so its a hunch). He will likely outgrow it before he is 5 ..but exploring your options never hurts. I was asthmatic when I was a kid and I feel for anyone who has to fight to breath. It sucks.

I mean you can wash your clothes after you go outside, take antihistamines, dust dust and dust, open your windos only at night (it worked for me) but there has to be more you can do than that.  I find that on days not so windy I also find it less congesting..so those are the days I prefer to be outside.  But what can you do in the house besides dust and keep windows closed?

I love this Accu-clean Air filtration system! American Standard is a company with a great reputation, that is important to me when talking about big purchases. AND I mean over 99% cleaner air..everyone can benefit from that..not just the allergy/asthma sufferers in the house.  This system cleans allergens ( even those pet danders..cool, and note here that up to 72 trillion microscopic allergens find their way into your home everyday!), and prevents odours (for those of you who can’t boil water it removes smoke from burnt food in the air), and to top it off, and a selling point to a germophobe like me….Accu-clean Whole Home Air filtration Systems are also proven to remove more than 99% of the common flu, or influenza A virus, from othe filtered air in your home..my family would maybe make it through flu season rather unscathed.  To quote the company (I can’t say it any better…honest) " a whole home air cleaner, like American Standard AccuClean™, works as part of your heating and cooling system. That means it’s designed to clean the air in every room of your home. And our unique patented filtration technology has the highest efficiency of any air cleaner on the market. Get ready for the cleanest, most comfortable indoor air you’ve ever experienced. "

I just think its important to give our families the best and safest environment we can, and this system is a big step in the right, and easier to breath, direction.  If you have questions or want to check the facts out for yourself check out the website.
